Update 1.4

Underwater Ruins are Generated Structures added in Update 1.4.

Underwater Ruins generate in Ocean and Deep Ocean Biomes. There are two variant types of Ruins: Cold and Warm Ruins. Cold Ruins are built of stone, cobblestone, or chiseled stone and sometimes terracotta, and generate in cold or frozen ocean biomes. Warm Ruins are built of sandstone variants and often andesite and generate in warm, lukewarm, and deep lukewarm biomes. These Ruins may generate alone or as part of a large ruined village. Many Underwater Ruins will contain hidden Chests.

  • Ruins may generate as a large ruined Village.
  • Ruins come in many different shapes and sizes.
  • Ruins may contain Chests of various loot.
  • Ruins may be found slightly underground, as well as slightly above sea-level.
  • Ruins can contain Maps, which lead to Buried Treasure.
