Update 0.8.0

A Sponge is a Decorative Block introduced in Update 0.8.0.

Obtaining

The Player must go to an Ocean Monument and find a Wet Sponge. Next, the Player must smelt the Wet Sponge in a Furnace, which will then result in a Sponge.

Another way to obtain the Block is to kill an Elder Guardian.

Usage

In Update 0.16.0, Sponges received the ability to soak up Water. Doing so will turn the Sponge into a Wet Sponge.

Trivia

  • The Sponge texture was changed to the PC 1.8 texture in Update 0.16.0.
  • Only 3 Elder Guardians spawn per Ocean Monument. Thus, this does not make Sponges renewable.
