Update 0.1.0

Lapis Lazuli Ore is an Ore that was added in Alpha 0.1.0.

Obtaining

Lapis Lazuli Ore can be found at layer 31 or less. It is most common at layers 13-16, and can be mined using an Stone Pickaxe or above. When mined, it drops 4-8 Lapis Lazuli. Using a Pickaxe with the Fortune Enchantment allows the Player to get around 5-9 Lapis Lazuli. The Block itself can only be obtained by mining it with a Pickaxe enchanted with Silk Touch.

Smelting

  • 1 Lapis Lazuli Ore + Any Fuel => Lapis Lazuli

Usage

Lapis Lazuli Ore can be mined to obtain Lapis Lazuli, which is used for Enchanting and for crafting Dyes and Lapis Lazuli Blocks.

Its drops can be increased via a Fortune Enchanted Pickaxe.

Trivia

  • Even though Lapis Lazuli Ore was added in Update 0.1.0, it didn't drop Lapis Lazuli until Update 0.4.0.
  • Lapis Lazuli Ore, like Emerald Ore, is different from other ores in terms of its sprite.
  • Like Coal, Redstone, Diamond, and Emerald Ore, Lapis Lazuli Ore yields its resource immediately after being mined rather than being smelted to obtain its resource.
  • Like Redstone Ore, Lapis Lazuli Ore yields more of its resource when mined than when smelted in a Furnace.
  • If smelted, the ore only gives one Lapis Lazuli.
    • However, to smelt it, it must be obtained by using a Pickaxe Enchanted with Silk Touch.
