Coal Ore is an Ore block that can be mined using a Pickaxe. When mined, it drops Coal.
Spawn
Coal Ore generates in Mineral Veins on both the surface and underground, and can be found in amounts of 5-30 blocks.
Trivia
- Coal Ore is the only ore that can spawn above sea level. Along with gold (only in mesa biomes).
- Coal is one of the oldest ores in any version of minecraft.
- Coal Ore drops the resource immediately, like Diamond, Lapis Lazuli, Redstone, and Emerald Ore.
- Coal Ore can never drop Charcoal.
- Coal Ore as a block is obtainable via Silk Touch enchantment.
