Andesite is a block added in Update 0.9.0. It forms similar to Gravel, so it will appear in large veins underground, and sometimes above ground too.
Crafting
- 1 Cobblestone + 1 Diorite => 1 Andesite
- 3 Andesite => 6 Stone Slabs
- 4 Andesite => 4 Polished Andesite
Trivia
- Andesite is sometimes found near Granite and Diorite.
- Andesite in its polished form can be used to craft Stone Bricks, unlike PC.
- Thus, Polished Andesite could be used as replacement for Stone.
- This feature was removed along with the Stonecutter.
- However, they can still be used to craft Stone Slabs in place of Stone.
- Andesite is one of the few blocks added in 0.9.0 that can be found commonly in Old Worlds.
